Serge Lamielle has served since October 2002 as the CEO of Neumann International AG, and shares his time between Paris and Vienna, while remaining active in international top Executive Search assignments, mainly in IT.
Since 1989 Serge has been a Partner in the Paris office of Neumann International,where Neumann International is a leading player, while working internationally as an Executive Search Consultant specialized in I.T. In parallel, Serge managed the European I.T. sector practice of Neumann International from 1992 to 1994, established the Executive Consulting service line of Neumann International in 1994 and managed it until 1999. He joined the Supervisory Board of Neumann International in 1996 and vice-chaired then chaired the Supervisory Board from 1999 until 2002.
Previous Experience
Serge started his career during his university years, by establishing a company in the field of de-pollution, negotiating research and development contracts with automotive manufacturers and oil companies.
After his MBA, he worked for five years with the SOFIC Group, a holding company with diversified interests, as assistant to the Finance Director, Finance Director and then Managing Director of a French manufacturing company and an Italian engineering company, before leaving to join Richier, a former subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, for two years, as Finance Director.
In 1981 he joined the Matra Group as Finance Director for one of its subsidiaries, active in transportation systems, and later for the whole Automation Group. During his time with Matra, Serge served in several Boards including Matra-Datavision - a CAD CAM company active worldwide, and participated in several cross border acquisitions, restructuring and selling businesses.
In 1987 Serge joined the consulting industry and became Senior Consultant in the Paris office of Korn Ferry International. He was member of the I.T. Practice and was promoted to Partner in December 1988.
Education
Having completed in 1972 a B.A. degree at I.E.P. (Institute of Political Sciences), while studying Economics at the University of Aix-en-Provence, he obtained a MBA degree from the H.E.C. School of Management in 1974.
