TALENT RECRUITMENT FOR LEADING GLOBAL RETAILER
Situation Analysis
A major international retail organisation was commencing operations
in three new Central and Eastern Europe markets over a three year
period with further growth planned in four new markets in subsequent
years.
The retailer approached Neumann International to manage the
recruitment of over 70 high potential professionals - university
graduates with up to three years professional experience - in each
country in which they were expanding. Additionally they wanted to
recruit over 70, in total, specialist senior local managers with
expertise in a number of fields including: General Management,
Purchasing, Finance and Administration, Logistics and Network
Development.
Action
Neumann International held comprehensive meetings with the global
retailer to ensure full understanding of the company culture and the
requirements of the project. A team of specialists from Neumann
International’s Retail Sector Practice were committed to the project.
The Neumann International Management Solutions methodology was used to
select the high potential professionals and structured interviews
focusing on consistent evaluation criteria were conducted. The Neumann
International Executive Search service was used to recruit the
specialist senior local managers due to the specific nature of the
roles and therefore the necessity for systematic research.
Result
Over 5,960 candidates were considered of which Neumann International
interviewed approximately 1,830 candidates, presented 570 candidates to
the client and 290 candidates were recruited by the retail
organisation. Neumann International continues work with the global
retailer today sourcing and selecting future talent to help them
realise their expansion strategy.
